Penne with Vodka Sauce

This is a classic dish that’s a favorite for everyone! The sauce comes out nice and flavorful and it’s very easy to put together! This is an easy, weeknight meal that will make everyone happy. You can also leave out the vodka if you prefer not to use it or just don’t have any sitting around. This is delicious either way! Penne with Vodka Sauce is the best way to spend a cold night inside, all you need is some fresh Italian bread and some salad on the side and you won’t regret it! 

Ingredients: 

1 lb box of penne

3 cloves garlic, chopped

1/2 onion, chopped

3 tablespoon butter

3 tablespoon olive oil

1 cup vodka

1 14 oz can tomato sauce

1 cup whole milk

1 tablespoon red pepper flakes

Salt and pepper

Grated Parmesan for serving

Instructions:

1) Boil pasta to box directions.

2) In large saucepan, melt butter and saute onions for 2-3 minutes till soft. Add garlic and cook till fragrant. Pour in vodka and cook/reduce for 3 minutes.

3) Add tomato sauce and combine. Reduce heat to low and pour in milk. Simmer. Add red pepper, salt and pepper.

4) Pour in pasta and stir well to combine. Serve with Parmesan on top.
