When I was offered the opportunity to eat dinner at b.good in Fairfield, Connecticut, I jumped at the chance. The opportunity to eat fast food without the grease or guilt was something right up my alley. They specialize in quick meals without the salt, fat or processed junk that other fast food places are known for and offer delicious, wholesome food with ingredients from local farms and stores so you know exactly where your food is coming from. Which is fantastic because you not only know exactly what you are eating, you are also doing your part to support local small businesses!

I was lucky enough to get a full spread of food options and I can tell you that everything was delicious! Some of my highlights were the Harvest Kale Salad, the Elizel Burger, the Adopted Luke Burger, the Apple and Bacon Grain Bowl and all the various beverages! They have unique and delicious lemonades and smoothies that will make you want to rev up your blender and start experimenting! One of their specialties is a Kale Crush which contains fresh kale, pineapple, banana and pineapple juice! It was so refreshing!
The Harvest Kale Salad is gluten-free and contained marinated kale, brussels sprouts, manchengo cheese, sunflower seeds, beets, roasted squash, garbanzos and topped with an absolutely delicious sherry vinaigrette! I would definitely get a huge bowl of this at your visit. They also specialize in Kale and Grain Bowls with are packed with quinoa (or you can choose their super grain mix). My favorite was the Apple and Bacon Bowl which had kale, quinoa, avocado, slab bacon straight from New Hampshire, apples, pomegranates, dried cranberries, sunflower seeds, scallions, red wine vinegar and olive oil! All of the flavors mixed so well together and was a great way to mix up quinoa. Please note that the super-grain mix does contain gluten so keep that in mind when ordering.

All of the burgers and sandwiches are all natural, homemade, handpicked and free of any antibiotics so you can indulge without any guilt. I got to try several of their delicious options, which you can get any way you like. They offer all of their burger/sandwich options as a burger, turkey burger, veggie burger or chicken sandwich so you can get it exactly how you like it. The Elizal Burger is off of their seasonal spring menu and was fantastic! It was a beef burger with seared asparagus, red pepper aioli, sharp cheddar, parmesan, grilled red onion and toasted breadcrumbs! You may think that asparagus on a burger would be odd but don’t think twice, it was full of flavor and the burger was cooked to perfection. I highly recommend you get this while you can since it’s a seasonal item!
(The Adopted Luke)
I also loved the Adopted Luke, it was served as a grilled chicken sandwich and had mushrooms, caramelized onions, smoked gouda and BBQ sauce! If you are looking for a traditional burger, I recommend the Cousin Oliver! It comes with lettuce, tomato, onions and homemade pickles, mine was a turkey burger and it was amazing! You also have the option of fries and sweet potato fries, which are vegan and gluten-free. What makes these fries better for you is that they are not fried, they are hand cut, freshly made everyday and baked in the oven! They were full of flavor without the heavy greasy/salty feeling you get with regular fried ones. You can also get crisp veggies or a salad as a side if you choose instead.
