I have reached the promised land in paper supplies. I have discovered a great website for those looking for that perfect way to announce their big event, minted.com!
This site has everything from wedding invites to party decorations but what really stood out for me was their fabulous birth announcements. They have so many different options, including beautiful foil pressed announcements.(Seriously, check those out. They actually let you see how the foil shines!) It would be impossible for you not to find something that introduces your new little munchkin in a way totally unique to you. They even offer free samples for new moms to check out!
(How adorable would your baby look on here?) Continue reading
I love these! They are a mix of cheesy, meaty, beany goodness! Also, easy to buy for as these only take 5 ingredients! Continue reading
Rachel Frederickson won The Biggest Loser on Tuesday night by losing 155 pounds and then the internet exploded.
Well not really but it might as well have with the backlash against her from people saying she drifted the other way and instead of obese, she was now anorexic or saying she was a bad example for weight loss. But here’s something to consider……the show itself is a bad example of weight loss. Continue reading
I can’t take all the credit for this idea, my husband came up with it but now it has become a favorite in our house because they are sooo good! You will not be disappointed, all you need is some pulled pork to start you off. Continue reading
Children are cute but man can they stink up a place. I’m sure I’m not the only who notices how the smell from the diaper pail can start to spread throughout the whole house and after awhile the smell stays even when it’s empty. Here is a way to clean your pail that stops the stench and keeps the pail smelling….well as good as a diaper pail can.
All you need is hot water and 2 cups of white vinegar. The next time you empty your pail, take it to the shower and fill it with hot water. While it is filling, add the vinegar.
Then let it sit and soak for about 1/2 hour.
Then you scrub the pail and any parts that the vinegar/water mixture didn’t get. Rinse well and dry throughly and that’s it! You should notice immediately that the smell has diminished immensely.
Doing this will make changing the diaper pail just slightly more pleasant. You still won’t love it but at least the smell cloud won’t be lingering in the bucket to attack you.
I hope you all had a happy new year! The first post of 2014 is for a smoky homemade BBQ sauce. I used to always have a bottle of sauce in my fridge but realized one day in the middle of dinner that I forgot to stock up. I tried making my own and it has been a staple ever since. It’s much better than the bottled stuff. This is great for any kind of meat but really brought out the flavor in BBQ chicken. Continue reading
As 2013 draws to a close and I look back at the last year I’m very grateful to those of you who have started reading this blog and have followed me in the last few months. I think we all know that starting a blog is not easy and getting up and just starting the blog itself is the first step. For those of you who are thinking of starting a blog yourself, DO IT! With a new year comes a new outlook. If you want to try something, try it. You can’t say that it didn’t work out if you never even tried. I felt myself getting burned out with the holidays so I took a break from here to recharge. I have several new posts coming up for the new year and I look forward to reading your thoughts on them.
My goals for the next year are to continue to be as healthy as I can with my pregnancy, focus on being the best wife and mother I can be and to put work into Domesticated Wild Child but to remember that I started this to be a fun hobby, not a job that I dislike. If I need a break I will take it but I encourage you all to continue with the e-mails and social media, it keeps me motivated. Do the things you love, work when you have to and use your free time to make you happy.
I wish you all a wonderful and happy 2014!
My Facebook has been on fire today with the news that Phil Robertson of A&E’s Duck Dynasty has been suspended over remarks made in an interview with GQ magazine. Now normally I would read the comments and let people have their opinions, but there is a glaring comment that keeps jumping out at me. “His rights as an American are being trampled!”
No, they are not. Continue reading
